    The Monster Squad

    On July 22nd, 2007, Creature Features broke out the wooden stakes and silver bullets to host a star-studded cast & crew reunion of the 1987 chiller The Monster Squad. In attendance were writer/director Fred Dekker, producer Jonathan Zimbert, actors Stephen Macht, Andre Gower and Ashley Bank, make-up FX artist Shane Mahan and BossFilm’s visual FX master Richard Edlund. Moderated by Jeff Bond of CFQ, Geek Monthly and Film Score Monthly, the event was staged at the American Cinematheque’s Aero Theatre in Santa Monica and set the stage for Lionsgate’s deluxe DVD release the following week, plus Intrada Records CD debut of composer Bruce Broughton’s electrifying score.     William Stout

    On Saturday, April 9, 2005, Creature Features welcomed master illustrator and dinosaur expert William Stout to celebrate the DVD release of Dragon’s World – A Fantasy Made Real (formerly aired as Dragons on Animal Planet).

    Stout’s imprint in the fields of art and pre-history are widely acclaimed with his work appearing in a wealth of books, magazines, films and gallery exhibits (not to mention being one of author Michael Crichton’s key inspirations for Jurassic Park!) (For more info, visit www.williamstout.com).

    On Dragons, Stout illustrated the exquisitely detailed dragon artwork used to promote the special prior to its airing. The result was the limited production of a stunning one-sheet poster, which was offered free to all who attended the event.

    Ray Harryhausen

    Stop-Motion legend Ray Harryhausen made the trek to our gallery in Sierra Madre in February, 2005 to sign copies of Sparkhill’s monumental DVD release of Ray Harryhausen: The Early Years. There was standing room only as friends and fans packed the showroom to meet and greet the icon. Guests included Producer Arnold Kunert, fellow stop-motion animators Jim Danforth, Chris Endicott and Jim Aupperle, Mystery Science Theater 3000 creator Joel Hodgson, comedians Dana Gould and Patton Oswalt and many others.

    Frankenstein Conquers Burbank!

    Creature Features joined forces with Sideshow Collectibles in 1995 to unveil one of the company’s first and finest achievements with their epic interactive vinyl model kit based on Bernie Wrightson’s Frankenstein.

    David Hedison: The Fly Trilogy

    In July, 2000, Actor David Hedison (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea) joined in to celebrate the release of Percepto Records deluxe 2-CD soundtrack titled The Fly Trilogy, which showcased the original scores from 20th Century Fox’s The Fly, Return of The Fly and The Curse of The Fly.

    Mark Snow

    In June, 1998, Composer Mark Snow signed copies of his soundtrack from The X-Files: Fight The Future which marked the hit TV series first big-screen feature.

    James Newton Howard goes postal

    Composer James Newton Howard made a rare public appearance in December, 1997 to sign copies of his soundtrack from Kevin Costner’s post-apocalyptic epic The Postman. Photos coming soon!

    Basil Poledouris

    Composer Basil Poledouris joined our “Film Composer Signature Series” in November, 1997 to celebrate his latest soundtrack release of Starship Troopers.

    In Summer, 1996, Composer Shirley Walker greeted fans and signed her soundtrack release of Escape From L.A., co-composed with director John Carpenter with whom she also scored Memoirs of an Invisible Man.

    Spook-O-Rama: “The Frighteners”

    In July, 1996, Creature Features hosted its very own “Spook-O-Rama” to celebrate the release of Universal’s The Frighteners. Guests included Writer/Producer/Director Peter Jackson, Dee Wallace-Stone and Jeffrey Combs!
