Born in Brooklyn, read Mad comics, watched Sid Caesar and graduated from the School of Industrial Arts. Bill then felt qualified to try and become a humorous illustrator/cartoonist.
During a long career, his work has appeared in the New York Times, Esquire Magazine, Premiere, Colorforms Toys, Random House Books for Young Readers, Scholastic, Inc., Penguin Group, Children's TV Workshop, Atheneum, Macmillan/McGraw Hill, Hyperion and Boy Scouts of America.
Dropped Names: Harvey Kurtzman was Bill's cartoon editor at Esquire. Bill once chickened out on a lunch date with Terry Gilliam. Tony Bennett and Calvin Klein also graduated from SIA.
Bill is married to artist and the very lovely Marie. Together they co-created Bill Jr., James and Marie Louise.
